How to Cancel or Delete Your Sonnox Account

Managing your account sometimes means deciding to step away. Whether you simply want to stop receiving emails or need your personal data erased, follow the steps below to make sure everything is handled smoothly.

You can manage marketing preferences yourself, but permanent deletion must be processed by the support team to ensure compliance with data‑protection laws. This guide explains both options.


Prerequesite

  • Have access to the email address you used to register.

  • Understand that account deletion is permanent – you will lose access to purchase history, downloads and upgrade options.

  • If you just want to tidy up your inbox, it may be enough to unsubscribe from marketing emails.


Step-By-Step Instructions


Option 1: Unsubscribe from Sonnox Marketing Emails

All newsletters and promotional emails sent by Sonnox include an “Unsubscribe” link in the footer. Clicking this link will take you to a page where you can confirm that you no longer wish to receive marketing communications. This action does not delete your account or licences; it simply stops marketing emails.

Option 2: Request Full Account Deletion

If you want to erase your account and all associated personal data, you’ll need to submit a request:

  1. Visit the Focusrite Group support request form:
    https://support.focusritegroup.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new.

  2. Under What can we help you with?, select the option related to Data protection / account deletion.

  3. Submit the form and wait for confirmation.  A member of the support team will verify your identity and process the request.  Once completed, your account will be removed and you will no longer have access to licences, downloads or purchase history.

Important: Deleting your account does not automatically transfer or refund licences.  If you need to move licences before deletion, refer to the article on licence transfers.

FAQs

What happens to my plug‑in licences if I delete my account?
All licences registered to your Sonnox account are removed. They will no longer be available for activation or upgrade. If you have licences deposited in an iLok account, those licences remain in iLok but you may lose access to updates and support.

Can I reopen my Sonnox account after deletion?
No. Once your data is erased, there is no way to restore it. You would need to create a new account and repurchase or transfer licences.

I unsubscribed, but still receive certain emails. Why?
Mandatory transactional messages (e.g. order confirmations or licence deposit notifications) are not affected by marketing preferences.  Only promotional content is suppressed when you unsubscribe.
