**LAST UPDATE** - 15/01/2024
At this time there is a compatibility issue affecting all Sonnox plugins on Apple’s new M4 chips.
What’s happening?
Sonnox plugins are currently crashing all major hosts when run on M4 chips. The fix required an update from iLok, and this has now been provided to us by the iLok team.
Our developers are now working closely with our QA team to complete internal testing and we will then arrange an Open Beta for all affected users.
How long will I need to wait for these updates?
We intend to start the Open Beta with a selection of the most popular plugins in the coming weeks, with more plugins being added as and when they pass our internal testing. We will notify everyone when this kicks off officially.
We estimate to have released updates for the entire Sonnox range by the end of February 2025. However, please be aware that this is subject to change, depending on internal testing and feedback from the upcoming open beta.
I use your plugins on every project! Is there a temporary solution?
Yes, You can run your DAW with Rosetta 2. We appreciate this is not ideal, but this will allow you to run your Sonnox plugins on your M4 while we work on this fix.
To enable your DAW to run via Rosetta -
- Close all DAWs
- Open the Finder on your Mac.
- Navigate to the Applications folder and locate your DAW
- Right-click (or Control-click) on the app icon.
- Select Get Info from the menu.
- In the Info window, tick the checkbox that says Open using Rosetta.
- Relaunch your DAW
What about macOS 15 Sequoia itself? I have an M1/M2/M3 CPU.
This is not related to macOS 15 Sequoia itself. Sonnox plugins have been thoroughly tested on the new OS and run on M1, M2, and M3 machines with no related problems.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we sort this out. Our team is working hard to get things back to normal as soon as possible.
Thanks for sticking with us!
