Sonnox plugin recall in Magix hosts - Samplitude/Sequoia

Modified on Wed, 12 Feb at 3:17 PM

As part of our continued effort to futureproof Sonnox plugins and improve performance, we’ve made some changes to our Windows VST3 plugins, focussed around installation, folder structure and consistency.

These changes include:

  • Replacing the single VST3 plugin installation files with a ‘VST3 Bundle’, a structured folder format used to organise related plugin components. This allows for faster plugin scanning and aligns with Steinberg’s best practices for VST3 plugins.

  • Removing the ‘Native’ suffix from our Oxford product plugin names for consistency across Windows and macOS.

Unfortunately hosts from the audio company Magix (Known for Sequoia, Samplitude, Music Studio, Sound Forge, etc.), do not yet support the VST3 Bundle structure or plugin name changes we have implemented. And whilst our updated plugins are still recognised and usable within Magix's hosts, the host may recognise the new update as a different plugin to the previous version.

We are currently in contact with Magix regarding this issue and hope to be able to provide updates on this soon.

In the meantime, if you are a Sonnox user who requires full compatibility with Magix DAWs, here is a list of the affected plugins along with links to previous versions:

    •    Oxford Inflator

    •    Oxford Dynamic EQ

    •    Oxford Envolution

    •    Toolbox Claro

    •    Toolbox VoxDoubler
