This guide explains which activation methods are supported for each Sonnox product and highlights important compatibility considerations.

Prerequisites

  • A valid iLok account (create one here).

  • Your iLok User ID and iLok‑registered email address.

  • The latest version of iLok License Manager installed (download here).

  • The latest version of your Sonnox plug‑ins (download here).

Step‑by‑Step Solution

1. Check your product range and supported locations

Toolbox Plug‑ins

  • iLok USB (Gen 2 or 3)

  • iLok Machine Authorisation

  • iLok Cloud (except Hitmaker versions of VoxDoubler)

VoxDoubler – Focusrite Hitmaker Edition

  • iLok USB (Gen 2 or 3)

  • iLok Machine Authorisation
    (iLok Cloud not supported)

Live Bundle & HDX (VENUE)

  • iLok USB (Gen 2 or 3 only)
    (Machine and Cloud not supported)

Legacy Licences (G4)

2. Follow compatibility requirements

  • Machine Authorisation requires the latest Sonnox plug‑in versions.

  • G4 Oxford licences must be upgraded to G5 to use Machine or Cloud authorisation.

  • G5 licences are not compatible with the original iLok 1.
