If the ListenHub desktop app crashes or fails to open immediately after launch, the most common cause is a faulty plug‑in loaded in the FX Chain.
This guide will help you reset the FX Chain so ListenHub can start successfully, and explains how to send us crash reports so we can investigate further.
Step‑by‑Step Solution
1. Reset the FX Chain
Quit ListenHub completely.
In Finder, navigate to:
/Library/Application Support/ListenHub
Locate and delete the FX Chain files in this folder.
Relaunch ListenHub — the FX Chain will be cleared automatically.
2. Send Us a Crash Report
To help our development team investigate:
Open the Console app:
Applications → Utilities → Console
In the sidebar, select Crash Reports.
Find the most recent report relating to ListenHub or the suspected faulty plug‑in.
Save the report and attach it to a Sonnox Support Ticket.
Note: Sometimes the crash report will point to the faulty plug‑in rather than ListenHub itself.
Please send it anyway so we can review it.
Additional Tips
Make sure all your plug‑ins are 64‑bit AU and up‑to‑date — outdated or unsupported plug‑ins can cause stability issues.
Test launching ListenHub with no plug‑ins inserted before re‑adding them to identify the faulty one.
For calibration and monitoring plug‑ins, ensure they are officially supported on your macOS version.
